Our Services

  • Japanese IVF

Japanese IVF is an approach to IVF that focuses on prioritizing quality, safety, comfort and success. We have adopted Japanese protocols because they are structured around retrieving the highest quality eggs, which can then be used to create a high-quality embryo, which can then be returned to an ideal environment for conception, minimizing side effects, risks, and complication.

    Key points of Japanese IVF:

    • - Low medication stimulation protocols
    • - Egg retrievals that avoid intravenous sedation or general anesthesia
    • - Using the smallest needle possible to avoid bleeding complications and lowering discomfort after egg retrieval
    • - Culturing embryos to blastocyst stage to reduce poor quality embryos, failed transfers, and miscarriages
    • - Possible Embryo freezing if fresh transfer is not ideal
    • - Vitrification (freezing technique created in Japan) to optimize embryo survival
    • - Minimal/no medication during embryo transfer
    • - Single embryo transfer to minimize risk associated with multiple implantations
  • Mini IVF

Mini IVF is part of our Japanese IVF concept. Similar to traditional IVF, patients in minimal stimulation treatment will go through ovarian induction, egg retrieval, fertilization, embryo culture, and embryo transfer. However, Mini IVF employs far less medication to stimulate the ovaries in order to produce a few eggs whereas a traditional IVF uses more amounts of medication to produce multiple eggs for retrieval. Mini IVF treatment aims to get only 3 to 5 high-quality eggs to conceive a healthy baby.

Mini IVF protocols using low-doses of medication makes treatment more affordable than traditional IVF. This not only enables more patients to afford IVF treatment, but also results in decreased discomfort, reduced risk of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), and minimizes the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancer from high-dose fertility drugs. Patients also benefit from fewer days of monitoring than traditional IVF.

  • Natural Cycle IVF

Natural Cycle IVF is typically a no-medication IVF cycle that uses careful monitoring to predict your body’s natural cycle and retrieves the one egg that is naturally produced during that cycle. Since everything about this process is natural, the eggs retrieved are typically the highest quality eggs that your body can produce, which can, in turn, lead to higher quality embryo and healthier pregnancy.

Ideal candidates for Natural Cycle IVF include:

    • - Couples looking to use fewer drugs and fewer medications
    • - Women of advanced maternal age
    • - Women who have high FSH
    • - Women who have found that they are less likely to produce multiple eggs even with the use of stimulating medications.
  • Conventional IVF

A conventional IVF cycle typically consists of three stages:

    • - Preparation
    • - Stimulation
    • - Retrieval

    Preparation:

To maximize the number of eggs being produced (and to inhibit the natural selection of a single follicle), most IVF clinics require patients to undergo a preparation stage before the cycle starts. Preparation may involve a combination of hormonal pills, patches, injections, or topical gels.

    Stimulation:

The stimulation process involves daily injections of IVF medication to stimulate the follicles to grow.

    Retrieval:

Prior to retrieval, the egg is triggered to release and initiate the ovulation process. The hormonal surge releases the egg from the follicle wall into the follicle, the follicle ruptures and releases the egg 38-40 hours later. General anesthesia is used to sedate the patient for the retrieval procedure, which requires the presence of an anesthesiologist.

  • Egg Donation and Surrogacy

We also offer surrogacy services for couples that may have a difficult time carrying the pregnancy themselves. We work with the best surrogacy agencies in Southern California and maintain above-average standards when selecting candidates.

Several women can benefit from egg donations, including those with:

    • - Diminished ovarian reserve
    • - Premature menopause
    • - Poor egg quality due to aging
    • - Poor responses to hormone stimulation
    • - Genetic diseases that could pass on to offspring

StoryALink

After hours of research about IVF, I found that most websites had a limited amount of information buried under the same repro center promises and static websites. Finding Hanabusa IVF’s site piqued my interest, though, and after reading a couple of your blogs, I felt safe. A doctor that spends time educating, pointing out both the negatives and the positives is both unique and refreshing. I am so glad I found you and can’t wait to meet you. I am in San Diego (congrats on moving to the most fabulous city!) Thank you so much for your effort. I finally do not feel so lost :), and let your wife know that your wordy blog is a welcomed relief. Can your office can send me pricing info on your cycles and consult fees? It’s greatly appreciated.
